The nature of the dependence in the variety of goals scored is complicated, and we develop the concept that the power of dependence depends on the competitive balance of a match. Our analysis suggests that for video games between carefully matched groups, the overall dependence is low, and that the dependence turns into more and more unfavorable as the competitiveness of a match decreases.
